Beachside Retreat Tours
Escorted 4 wheel drive tours of 4 and 6 hour duration, showcasing Tasmania’s magnificent coastal scenery and pristine rainforests of north west Tasmania, are offered to resident guests.
Tours are designed for all levels of fitness, from guests who wish to relax, take in the sights and be driven by a knowledgeable guide, to the most seasoned bushwalker. Short walks along forested tracks and photographic opportunities are available. Other tours are available on request.
Coastal and Rainforest Drive
The 4 hour tour includes Rocky Cape National Park, Dip Falls and the Big Tree.
Cost: $120 per person including refreshments
West Coast Wilderness and Rainforest Drive
The 6 hour tour takes in the Tarkine Drive, Arthur River, the Edge of the World and off-road places of interest.
Cost: $180 per person including light lunch.
The Land Rover Defender 4WD station wagon is licensed to carry up to 6 passengers, aged from 6 years upwards, plus the tour guide.
Suitable footwear, hat and a light jacket are recommended.
A minimum number of 2 passengers applies for both tours.

Tarkine Wilderness Lodge Walk
The tour includes return transport to the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge with your resident guide.
A two and a half hour rainforest wilderness walk with Maree, the knowledgeable lodge guide.
Followed by a barbecue lunch at the lodge gazebo at completion of the walk.
Walkers must be 16 years and over and have a fairly good level of fitness.
Water bottle and light pack to be carried by walker.
Suitable walking boots and wet weather gear are recommended.
Cost: Transport - walk - barbecue lunch - $165 per person.
A minimum number of 2 walkers applies.
Duration of tour is approximately 5.5 hours.
Arthur River Wilderness Walk
The tour includes a one and a half hour journey into the wilderness by 4WD, including pickup and light refreshments at the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge.
Two and a half hour walk into pristine rainforest.
Delicious home-cooked picnic lunch on the banks of the Arthur River, at the foot of Phantom Peak.
An invigorating dip in the nearby swimming hole. Pick up by 4WD and return to Stanley.
Walkers must be 16 years and over, with a good level of fitness, as tracks may be rough and steep in places. Creek crossings by logs may be negotiated.
Water bottle and light pack to be carried by walker.
Suitable walking boots and wet weather gear are essential.
Cost: Transport - walk - picnic lunch - $240 per person.
A minimum number of 2 walkers applies.
